SSC GD Constable 2024

The Staff Selection Commission has released the SSC GD Constable 2024 Notification on its website. The candidates can apply for the post of SSC General Duty in BSF, CISF, CRPF, SSB, ITBP, AR and SSF. A total of 26146 Constable vacancies have been released for male and female candidates. The candidates who fulfil the SSC GD eligibility can apply online from the SSC website which is ssc.nic.in from 24th November to 31st December 2023 (11 pm). As per the SSC GD Constable notification, the exam will be held from 20th February to 12th March 2024.

What is SSC GD Exam?

SSC GD Constable exam is the SSC General Duty Constable exam that is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission. It is an annually held exam for the candidates who are 10th pass and are between the age of 18 to 23 years. The candidates are recruited in the following forces for SSC GD constable post:

  • Border Security Force (BSF)
  • Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)
  • Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)
  • Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP)

SSC GD Constable 2024 Apply Online

To apply for SSC GD exam 2024, candidates have to visit the SSC website. The steps to apply for SSC GD exam is are as follows:

  • Visit SSC website. 
  • If you have not registered on SSC website, then make sure to register first. 
  • Candidates who have a registration number may login using the login credentials. 
  • Fill the details. 
  • Upload a scanned copy of your photograph and signature.
  • Pay the application fee as per your category. 
  • Lastly, take a print out of the application form.

SSC GD Eligibility Criteria 2024

SSC GD eligibility criteria consist of fulfilling the age limit and educational qualification as prescribed by the SSC. The details regarding the SSC GD Constable eligibility are as follows: 

SSC GD Educational Qualification (As on 01-01-2024)

Candidates applying for GD Constable in BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSF, SSB, NIA and riflemen should have passed 10th class or equivalent from a recognized board.

SSC GD Age Limit (As on 01-01-2024)

The age limit of the candidates for SSC GD is 18 to 23 years. Candidates should not have been born earlier than 02-01-2000 and later than 01-01-2005. Age relaxation is applicable to those candidates who belong to the reserved categories.

SSC GD Selection Process

SSC GD selection process consists of a written exam, physical efficiency test, physical standard test, detailed medical exam and document verification. Candidates have to qualify each round of the selection process to be appointed as SSC GD Constable. The details regarding the SSC GD selection process for each stage is given below.

SSC GD Exam Pattern (New)

SSC GD exam is an objective exam consisting of four sections to it. The sections include General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Knowledge and General Awareness, Elementary Mathematics and  English/Hindi. The exam is held in online mode for a total of 160 marks. Candidates have to attempt a total of 80 questions that has to be completed in 1 Hour. There is a negative marking of 0.50 per question for every incorrect answer marked by you. SSC GD syllabus is released by SSC for the written exam. In order to qualify the exam, the candidates should ensure that they know the important topics and sub topics that are needed to crack the exam. The details regarding the SSC GD syllabus are as follows:
